Doctor in Medicine and Specialist in Cardiology, Dr. Hernández is coordinator of the Hemodynamics Laboratory in the Heart Area of Xanit International Hospital and Director of the Hemodynamics Unit in the Heart Area of the Cardiology Service at Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital, Malaga. He has extensive experience in the different procedures used in interventions, including unconventional techniques; of special note is the technique of percutaneous implantation of aortic prosthesis, in which he has become a recognised expert at both national and international levels.

In the field of teaching and research, he is Associate Lecturer at the Department of Medicine, Malaga University, is author of numerous scientific articles, and has presented papers at national and international conferences.
